HOW TO USE DIFFERENT ICT TOOLS?

ICT Tools

ICT (Information and Communication Technology) tools are technological devices, applications, and systems used to collect, store, process, communicate, and share information electronically for teaching, learning, communication, and administration purposes.

Examples of ICT Tools:

• Computer 

• Laptop

• Interactive Whiteboard 

• Tablet PC 

• iPad 

• iPhone 

• Mobile Phones 

• Digital Camera 

• Multimedia Equipment 

• Skype 

• Zoom 

• Google Meet


VARIOUS ICT TOOLS AND THEIR STEPS TO USE

1. Computer / Desktop Compute

 Steps

1. Connect the power cable. 

2. Press the power button to switch on. 

3. Wait for the operating system to load. 

4. Use the mouse and keyboard to open applications. 

5. Connect to the internet if needed. 

6. Create, save, and manage files. 

7. Shut down properly using the Start/Menu option.


2. Laptop

 Steps

1. Open the laptop lid. 

2. Press the power button. 

3. Log in using password or PIN. 

4. Use touchpad or mouse for navigation. 

5. Connect to Wi-Fi. 

6. Open software like Word, browser, or presentation tools. 

7. Save work and shut down after use. 


3. Internet

 Steps

1. Turn on Wi-Fi or mobile data. 

2. Open a web browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. 

3. Type a website address in the address bar. 

4. Press Enter to open the website. 

5. Search information using search engines. 

6. Download or upload files if required. 

7. Log out from important accounts after use. 


4. Interactive Whiteboard

Steps

1. Switch on the interactive whiteboard and projector. 

2. Connect it to the computer. 

3. Open the whiteboard software. 

4. Use finger or stylus to write on the board. 

5. Display videos, images, or presentations. 

6. Save notes if needed. 

7. Turn off equipment after class.


5. Tablet PC / iPad

Steps

1. Press the power button to turn on. 

2. Unlock the screen. 

3. Connect to Wi-Fi. 

4. Open educational apps or browser. 

5. Use touchscreen for typing and navigation. 

6. Download or share learning materials. 

7. Charge the device after use. 


6. iPhone / Mobile Phones

Steps

1. Switch on the phone. 

2. Insert SIM card if required. 

3.Conn etc to mobile data or Wi-Fi. 

4. Open apps for communication or learning. 

5. Use camera, browser, and educational apps. 

6. Make calls or send messages. 

7. Lock and charge the phone after use. 


7. Digital Camera

Steps

1. Insert battery and memory card. 

2. Press power button. 

3. Adjust camera settings if needed. 

4. Focus on the object. 

5. Press shutter button to capture photo. 

6. View images on screen. 

7. Transfer photos to computer or mobile


8. Multimedia Equipment (Audio/Video)

Steps

1. Connect projector, speakers, or TV to computer. 

2. Switch on all devices. 

3. Open audio or video file. 

4. Adjust sound and display settings. 

5. Play multimedia content for learners. 

6. Pause or stop when needed. 

7. Switch off equipment safely after use. 


9. Skype

Steps

1. Install and open Skype. 

2. Create or sign in to account. 

3. Add contacts. 

4. Click audio or video call option. 

5. Use microphone and webcam during communication. 

6. Share screen if needed. 

7. End the call after completion. 


10. Video Conferencing

Steps

1. Open a video conferencing app such as Zoom or Google Meet. 

2. Sign in to the application. 

3. Join or create a meeting link. 

4. Allow camera and microphone access. 

5. Communicate with participants online. 

6. Share screen or presentation if required. 

7. Leave the meeting and close the application.
